Combined FOTD and OOTD

Hello lovelies! 
Welcome back to another sunny day on the South Coast of England. I’ve spent a little bit of time today sorting out what I’m going to wear to work, both on ma face and my modesty. 
Let’s start with the clothing section of this post (if this bears no interest to you, simply scroll down for the make-uppy goodness to follow). 

This is a relatively simple outfit but I tried it on the day that I bought it and it looks so chic and elegant. If I wasn’t going to work I would pair this with a lightweight long jacket, side-plait and Fedora for effortless Parisian style. However, work beckons so the hat and jacket and out the window.
The dress is from the Cameo Rose label that is under New Look’s umbrella of “brands” that it sells. It’s a button down shift dress with a V-neck. It’s relatively shapeless and becomes even more so as I had to go up a whole TWO sizes to actually be able to move my arms. So, that’s a design flaw if ever there was one! However once paired with my much loved plaited brown belt it starts to look very flattering and girly. You can ruche it up over the belt a little to make it shorter (oo-la-la!) or leave it loose for those blah days when you need a little pick me up. The vintage flower print is adorable, I might add.
I teamed this dress with my Time-Turner my darling mother bought me, brown Chelsea boots also from New Look (though they look far more expensive than they were!) and to up the cute-ness just an eency weency bit more, added some TopShop frilly ankle socks. Awww. 

I thought the femininity of the dress deserved a polished and girly make-up look to go with it. In Autumn and Winter months I will probably pop on a winged-liner but today I felt like something a little more smokey.
I used my Daniel Sandler Primer (like always) and popped Clarins Ever Matte Foundation in 104 Cream on top. I like to squeeze a little bit onto my finger tips, dot it on my face, spread it round a bit so I look ultra cake-face and then smooth everything out with a Real Techniques Buffing Brush. I just find it gives the best finish and ease of application always wins me over. I concealed any blemishes and redness with a combination of Collection (2000)’s Lasting Perfection Concealer in 1 Fair and 2 Light. I powdered down the centre of my face with my Natural Collection Pressed Powder in Warm to keep the oil-slicks at bay and then continued onto Bronzer.
My Bourjois Delice de Poudre is serving me well – it looks lovely dusted around the perimeter of the face with a big powder brush. It brings just the right amount of warmth and doesn’t look uber orange.
Next up – Blush. I’ve been really enjoying wearing a blush slightly off the apples of my cheeks. Someone told me that if you wear it slightly further out it makes your face look slimmer. I don’t know if it works or actually looks different in any way but I’ll jump on any bandwagon that says it can make my huge moon-face smaller! I lightly dusted MUA’s Blush in 3 English Rose onto the outside of my apples and slightly onto my cheekbones with a Real Techniques Blush Brush.
Eyes next – I know some people like to start with their eyes if they’re doing a look which could potentially have fall out but the idea of putting on foundation after my eye make-up is just so alien to me. The eye look that I achieved today was so super easy and also really inexpensive if you want to recreate it!
I used Maybelline’s Color Tattoo 24hr (blah blah blah, longest name ever) in On and On Bronze as a base. I brushed it on with a Deluxe Crease Brush from RT however you could just pat it on with your ring finger and get the same effect. I then popped a pigment from Collection (2000) on the centre of my eyelid with my ring finger. The pigment is called “Enchanted” and is basically a powder version of the Colour Tattoo with more glitter in it. I think the product is called a “Dazzle Me!” but don’t quote me on that. I find it useful to hold a bit of toilet paper (yes, I know, incredibly glamorous, use facial tissues if it bothers you) under each eye as I apply the pigment to catch any fallout.
Next I tight-lined my eyes with a recently re-discovered favourite – BadGal eyeliner from Benefit. This eyeliner is so chunky, it’s great for tight-lining noobs as you can literally blink onto the nib and the colour will come out. Great, right?! 
I finished off the eyes with a couple of coats of Rimmel’s new mascara; Scandaleyes Retro Glam in Black.

To top everything off I moisturised my lips with By Terry Baume de Rose (extortionately priced but super duper amazing) and a slick of the Glam Shine Stain from L’Oreal in 102 Romy.

And THAT is “it”. I don’t usually put this much effort into make-up but today I actually have some time to get ready for once! World, prepare yourself for put-together Bonnie!
