I confess that since postly weekly has begun I have been itching to write almost every day. It’s funny how when you become so passionate about something, it can begin to lose the shine after awhile.. Like listening to your favourite song on repeat over and over and over again.
Make-up and I have the same relationship. I go through stages of not wanting anything on face at all to spending an hour perfecting a smokey eye. It’s funny also that make-up has become such an integral part of society.. And not always in a positive way. A girl at school daring to let a spot breathe is deemed ugly, a new mother with no time and a naked face deemed unkept, a mature woman letting her laughter lines show deemed old and tired.
Isn’t it funny how the very thing shown to the public that should tell a story of our lives is, in fact no more than a work of fiction.
Now don’t get me wrong, make-up is one of my biggest passions. I use it to make me feel confident, noticed and maybe even a little bit sexy (oo-er).
What I’m trying to get across to you ladies is that make-up doesn’t have to rule your life. We are all beautiful. When we can come to realise that a face is just a face, a tool for expression, emotion, communication we will wonder why we were ever so worried about making ourselves look like something we are not. Life is too short to cover all our imperfections, we need to learn to love them.
I’m challenging myself at the moment; to look at myself without make-up on, in the mirror, every single day. And do you know what? It’s working. You don’t need to think you’re God’s gift to the world to have a little self confidence. When I get the occasional compliment I still blush like an idiot and don’t believe it. But seeing your naked face and being happy with, I think that’s where self peace originates. Because if you’re happy with what you have, it’s one of the most beautiful things to behold.
So, my lovely, as you sit here reading this cringy and deep blog post, remind yourself of the things you love about yourself, and challenge yourself to do so every day. It’s something we can all benefit from.
Love, Bonnie xx
I feel like an apology is becoming my trade mark start to a post. I’ve had the biggest bout of writer’s block and a hectic personal life meaning I’ve neglected my blog baby for over 2 months now.
I wanted to come back with a new direction and a slightly more structured posting promise. My posts from here on out (I’m hoping) will include a lot more videos, will be a LOT more regular and will feed even the hungriest make-up maven inside you. As I’m making my comeback on a Tuesday, this is when I will posting from now on. I feel like once a week is a manageable amount for me at the moment and also gives me enough time to put together exciting posts for your perusal – I’ll have more time to research and test out products and hopefully it will make reading my blog a lot more exciting for you!
Seeing as it’s January (just) I think it would be rather fitting to see how I’m doing with my resolutions so far!
My first was to get up earlier and so far I have failed so miserably with this! Hands up if you’re a serial snoozer! It’s so easier to set your alarm for 15 minutes later and have a little doze, so easy to think “well, my hair can go in a top knot today”, so easy to skip breakfast… Do you see where I’m going with this? If I get up earlier I can spend more time doing things, alleviating stress and panic and meaning I’ll be in a better position to get to places on time!
My second was to start blogging again and, like my first, this has also gone absolutely dreadfully.
However, the good thing about resolutions is that you have a whole year to perfect them! So hopefully February will be a better month for me!
I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing from me again, I’d love to know any of your resolutions if you fancy sharing them with me? I also wish you all good luck with accomplishing them!

I’ve just been looking through my little archive of photos on my hard-drive, all eagerly waiting to be turned into a post for your delectation and noticed a photo AND a draft Word document that should have been posted 3 weeks ago!! How on earth did THAT happen?
Anyway, I’ve found it now and you’ll be pleased to know I’ve also tidied up that pesky hard-drive and future post-losses should be greatly diminished now!
This post is about a couple of products from my trusty ol’ space.nk. They are two products I’ve never really tried before by my-oh-my ladies and gents, I can’t live without them now. Both cult beauty buys and absolutely worth their rather wince-inducing prices and also oh-so perrrdy.
NARS and Laura Mercier – you bring it!
These two beauties are the much sought after NARS Laguna Bronzer and the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage. I’ve used both of them nearly every day since their purchase and I’m absolutely loving them. Not much more needs to be said!
I hope you enjoyed reading this post! Stay tuned for a couple of reviews this week: Plum lipstick and nail-growth tactics!

How lucky are you?! Two posts in as many days! Today’s post is just a little insight into what I’m going to be slapping on my face today. It’s a pretty standard day – go to work and then an evening in with the famalam. Therefore it’s a pretty standard look (to go with my pretty standard day, you see?), a little bit bronzy, a naked eye and a flush of pink on the lips. Lovely.
Well, well, well, what do we have here? From left to right: NARS Laguna Bronzer, YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation in B50, Soap and Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil, Miss Sporty “Clear” Mascara, Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC-2, Clarins Instant Concealer in 02, MaxFactor Clump Defy Mascara in Black, Daniel Sandler Retexturising Face Primer SPF 20 and Max Factor Lipstick in 827 Bewitching Coral.
This is probably one of the easiest make-up looks to achieve and takes about 10 minutes to complete. I take a long time on my base as making my skin look healthy and glowy is top on my list of things to do in the morning.
I really hope you enjoyed reading this post! Don’t forget to hit the like button if you liked it and follow me for more posts like this!

Today’s post focuses on one of the great loves of my life – eyebrows. I never took them seriously before Cara came along but now there is rarely an occasion that I leave the house without thickening them up a bit. Now I’m not talking a full on Scouse-brow, that’s not something a South-East girl does! But a little bit of filling in and shaping? I’m down for that thankyou very much… And it seems I have found a winner that not only shapes and fills to perfection but comes in at a purse friendly £10.00 and in 3 colours – even blonde gals can have luscious brows! Read on ladies, and discover your brows’ soulmate…
My previous love in the brow department was a combination of Kevyn Aucoin’s The Precision Eyebrow Pencil and Wet’n’Wild’s brow duo. I found the pencil to be a little fake-looking for my liking and I rarely achieved the true shape I wanted. What’s so great about the Soap and Glory pencil is that it has a felt tip on one end – it mimics the look of hair and allows you to achieve a really natural looking thick brow. The pencil on the other end is perfect for bulking out eyebrows and making them look thicker. It’s also a waxy texture so it holds hairs in place. When using this pencil duo I don’t feel the need to finish off with powder as they are thick enough just from using the duo.
I really hope you enjoyed this post! I have some more reviews coming up.. The perfect plum lipstick (ppssssst – it’s from the drugstore!), my thoughts on a cult NARS product and my product to banish your blemishes. I hope you enjoyed your weekend and good luck and keep soldiering on to those of you joining me in the monotony of Monday!

It seems that every time I come to writing a post nowadays I always have to start it with an apology! My organisation seems to have suffered with shorter daylight hours and feeling the need to go to bed impossibly early. Don’t you think there’s something so depressing about walking out of work at 6’o’clock and it being pitch black?! Sometimes England just… Sucks!
A few things to catch up on:
– I have an exciting collab with Veronica coming up!
– I have a few videos planned and a block of 4 hours dedicated to deducing the editing software on my computer! Hurrah!
Catch-up over and I have a few questions to ask you: with Halloween fast approaching and Trick-Or-Treaters the world over preparing costumes; would you like to see a few “How-To” posts on some easy Halloween make-up? If yes – give me a request of what you’d like to see and I will make it so!
Now a few speculations for the make-up trends to hit this winter:
– With the current “Cara” love-in going on I think it’s safe to say that bold brows are here to stay (poet and I don’t know it?!). If you want to know how to create a set of brows worthy of Miss Delevinge herself check out my “How-To” video here.
– A big hit for Winter is always a bold lip look – this year it’s all about the wine shades. Don’t think this is an excuse for foundation lips – we’re talking Bordeaux not Sauvignon Blanc! For a can’t-go-wrong look dab the lipstick from bullet to finger to pout and build the colour. Correct any mistakes with a q-tip and remember to blot to keep it bang on trend.
– As we head into party season it’s time to crack out those glitter pots that hang around in the back of every gals make-up drawer. Make like Marc Jacobs and apply in a cat-eye shape for the ultimate glam factor (remember to shield your cheeks with some tissue or you’ll end up with you eye look all over your face!).
A miscellaneous post today but I hope you enjoyed reading it regardless. Keep your eyes peeled for that collaboration and if you enjoyed this post please take the time to press the “follow” button – it really does make my day!

Did you miss me? I’ve been gone for so long, and I must apologise. But it’s worth the wait as.. dun dun der duuuuun… I have a new camera!
If you follow me on Twitter you might have seen a little picture go up around 20 minutes ago. If not prepare to see the last picture taken on my laptop to appear on my blog:
Now get ready (I can hardly contain my excitement!!) for the first ever picture on the beauty that is Nick the Nikon.
Left to right: Revlon PhotoReady Primer, Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream in 002 Light Medium (and can I just take this moment to have a little rant about the fact that it’s called “PhotoReady” when it contains SPF and would give you awful flashback?!), Bourjois Baked Blush in 41 Healthy Mix, Bourjois Java Rice Powder (review, anyone?), Bourjois Volume Glamour Mascara in Black, Max Factor Clump Defy Waterproof Mascara in Black, Bourjois Blush Exclusif and Max Factor Lipstick in 715 Ruby Tuesday
Do let me know if there’s any of these products you’d like to see a review of.
Also I have an upcoming collab and need 10 of the best British Beauty Products to showcase… Please tell me yours in the comments!!
