Face of the Day #1

I’ve been reading a lot of these posts lately and I find them so interesting! So for the rest of this week I will be posting a “FOTD” edit, hope you enjoy them!

After my shower in the morning I’ll apply moisturiser and tea tree essential oil and allow that all to work it’s magic for roughly 20 minutes or so. If you like your showers hot and steamy (like me) then your pores will be relaxed, making it a crucial time to stay away from make-up as whatever you put onto your skin whilst your pores are relaxed is going to be sucked up. Great for moisturiser and treatments.. not so great for foundation.
I started off this morning by applying Clarins Instant Smooth all over my face, making sure I got everywhere covered. On top of this I smoothed a drop of No.7 Skin Illuminator in Pink all over my face with my fingertips.
Next step was foundation – I put a drop of Clarins Ever Matte in 104 Cream on the back of my hand and from there worked it into my face with a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. Then I conceal any blemishes and redness with Collection’s Lasting Perfection Concealer in 2 Light. After this came powder – I powdered Natural Collection Pressed Powder in Warm down the centre of my face (over my forehead, down my nose, chin crease) with the Eco Tools Domed Bronzer brush.
Base done – phew!!
Then I blended Revlon PhotoReady cream blush in Flushed onto the apples of my cheeks and outwards towards my hair line. I use a little bit at first, and build up until I’m happy with the colour.

Next: Eyes
I lightly shade in patchy areas of my eyebrows with an eyebrow duo within a wet’n’wild palette that I won in a giveaway a little while ago. It’s actually really good! I don’t use the other eyeshadows but the eyebrow duo is seriously impressive for such a budget brand. I use the Real Techniques Brow Brush to do this.
Then I smooth on Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in Honey Bunny with my finger, just up to the crease line. I go in on top with MaxFactor Max Effect Mono Eye Shadow in 02 Creme Champagne and blend away with my ring finger. I tightline my eye with Collection Intense Colour Supersoft Kohl Pencil in 02 Birdy Song and also gently push it along my upper lashline too, smudging with my finger to create a subtle soft smoky effect.
Then I curl the stuffing out of my eyelashes with my Models Own Eyelash curler. I actually wouldn’t recommend buying a drug store eye lash curler unless you want to be buying one every couple of months. It’s much better to save up for a Shu Uemera or Kevin Aucoin one, as they are far better in the design stakes and will last for years, not months.
I then pile on Max Factor Clump Defy by False Lash Effect Water Resistant Mascara in Black.
Last step is the Max Factor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Stick in Foxy Amber.

So that’s it – my face today. I would just like to point out I have 2 meetings to go to today, 4 trains to catch, a miles walk and a pretty hefty make-up kit to carry so that’s why there are quite a lot of products – I wanted this look to be as long-lasting as possible!

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this post and that you are having a wonderful day
Love, Bonnie xx
